Brand New....

I am the new year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time.

I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last 12 months.

All you sought and didn’t find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination. All the good you tried for and didn’t achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires.

All you dreamed but didn’t dare to do, all you hoped but did not will, all the faith you claimed but did not have — these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose.

I am your opportunity to renew your allegiance to him who said, “See, I am making all things new” (Revelation 21:5, NRSV).

Our First Loyalty

The beginning of a new year is a good time to consider our compelling — and sometimes competing — loyalties. Our first loyalty must always be to our loving Creator. “You shall have no other gods before me,” says the first commandment (Exodus 20:3, NRSV). Although other loyalties are important (family, country, work), God is the top priority.

The brilliant Christian statesman Thomas More tried to serve King Henry VIII well. But when the tyrant king made unethical demands on More that conflicted with God’s standards, More refused to obey.
The terrible consequence was More’s beheading. In 1535, just before the sharp blade fell on his neck, More proclaimed, “The king’s good servant, but God’s first.”

Determining God's will

Sometimes we’re in a quandary about God’s plan for our lives. For example, one young man felt led to enter the forestry service because God needs people to protect and care for his creation.

The man worked in a forest for six months and was fascinated by nature’s beauty. But he was dreadfully lonely. Only as he worshiped with others on Sundays did he feel at ease. When the man enrolled in a seminary, he immediately found his comfort zone. Today he’s a minister and loves serving God through the church.

God’s will is evident when we feel fulfilled and joyous in our vocation. That’s what God desires for each of us as we serve him.

May IS HERE!!!

Good Monday Beautifuls!!!

I wanted to say thank you for your effort and orders the last two months, we are moving up and going to start rocking it as a team!! :) Thank you for making me your Star Team Builder!!

I miss you all and even though I haven't got to see or talk business with you all, I don't want us to feel like we aren't supporting eachother! Let's start our conversation today with "What are your 1st week of May goals? Personal, People, Household, and MK?"

My Personal goal:
to be in God's word and my bible study daily.
My People goal:
plan Mother's day lunch, a movie night and dinner with a friend
Household goal:
pick my dandilions in the front yard, keep up on laundry and plan meals
MK goal: *ugh* here it goes, this is a scarey one! from bareling running at idle to full speed ahead!
I plan to contect with 10 people each day, book 3 apt each week- in order to complete my month of May goal: Grand Slam & Gold Medal!!!

Anyone else have a few goals they are working toward this week? They don't have to look anything like mine, cuz they are your own! :)

Do you know what you really want? Yesterday, I made a list of what my perfect day would look like. It doesn't quite match up with my current schedule, but now that I have it down on paper - I want it even more! What does your perfect day look like? Have you ever thought about it or got it down on paper?

In it for the Journey,
Jennifer

Let's Start with Step One: YOU

I can honestly say that I don't know where April went, but yet I don't want to do it over! :) I am so excited that May 2010 is here, and am looking forward to pushing us all toward what we really want!

Here is a special quote from Mary Kay Ash, emphasis my own:

That money doesn't deliver happiness is obvious each time we read about a rich person in the entertainment industry who accidentally overdoses on drugs or commits suicide. How can people appear to have everything, and yet be discontent? Perhaps they have stopped dreaming. I believe each of us needs a reason to get up in the morning. We need something to anticipate - something that truly excites us. (Mary Kay: You Can Have It All 1997 Calendar)

I know that each of us personally know how hard it can be to find that reason to get up in the morning, expecially when the world starts taking them away!! and I know that even through the ups and the downs that we are still getting up! We are still making things happen and working through the pain, heartache, loss, business, boredum.... (whatelse?) Let's make a commitment to eachother to start being our reason to get up in the morning! ??? Let's think about what truely excites us.... let's do this together!

Today my desk calendar says: Mary Kay Inc. was begun with the idea of giving women an opportunity to do anything in this world they were smart enough to do because I felt that women were very smart. But in the early 60's this opportunity was not avaliable simply because they were in the wrong body. My objective was to give women the opportunity that I felt I had been denied, and so our marketing strategy was built around the premise of giving women an open-ended opportunity.

You are smart enough!

K-love : Encouraging Word

Thursday 4/15/2010
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
~ 1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT

What a great note to start the day on!

Quote of the Day

From Google's inspirational quotes:

"For every failure, there's an alternative
course of action. You just have to find it. When you come to a roadblock,
take a detour." - Mary Kay Ash

I love seeing our mentor be shared with the world!!
